The General Management at METRO PROPERTIES manages the company and represents it externally. The members are responsible for all major issues of business development, strategy and planning.

Jean-Christophe Bretxa

Chief Executive Officer of METRO PROPERTIES

The Frenchman Jean-Christophe Bretxa, as the CEO of METRO PROPERTIES, is responsible for the international retail real estate portfolio of METRO GROUP and the approximately 600 employees of the real estate company. Bretxa came to METRO PROPERTIES in June 2011, as the Managing Director for the region of West Europe. Since June 2012, he has been the CEO of METRO PROPERTIES.

As the Managing Director for the region of West Europe at METRO PROPERTIES, Bretxa was already responsible for the real estate business in Belgium, Denmark, France, Italy, the Netherlands, Spain and Turkey. Previously, Jean-Christophe Bretxa worked for the international retail real estate company Redevco, where he most recently managed the retail business in France and Switzerland as the Managing Director. Until 2006, he worked for Axa Reim, where he had overall responsibility for twelve real estate funds. Bretxa began his career in the trade sector in 1988, as the Director of Property Services at the French retail and wholesale company Printemps. After that, he held various positions in the field of real estate management at the French supermarket chain Continent (Promodès) and the Carrefour retail and wholesale group.

Chief Financial Officer of METRO PROPERTIES

Jürgen Schwarze joined METRO GROUP in September 2008 as Senior Vice President. After three years as Head of Group Audit and Advisory, Forensics and Security he became Chief Executive Officer of METRO Cash & Carry United Kingdom where he prepared and managed the implementation of a comprehensive restructuring plan as well as the sale of the company after completed restructuring.

In January 2013, he was named Chief Financial Officer of METRO PROPERTIES, being responsible for Finance, Transactions, Human Resources Administration as well as Investor Relations.

Prior to METRO GROUP, he worked as head of Strategic Planning at Haniel Group, a German Family Equity company and major stakeholder of METRO GROUP. Schwarze started his career as Management Consultant and Senior Manager Restructuring and Reorganization for PriceWaterhouseCoopers and Ernst & Young.
