From retail parks for daily supplies up to shopping malls with 170 tenants: Our Center Management makes sure that shopping locations are equally attractive for our tenants as well as customers. Together with the joint-venture MEC METRO ECE Centermanagement GmbH, we take care of various tasks for 43 locations across Germany, most of them under ownership of METRO PROPERTIES. In Poland and Turkey, we're present with own companies and manage the centers entirely - from operations to lease management and marketing.

MEC METRO-ECE Centermanagement GmbH & Co. KG is a joint venture company between the METRO GROUP and ECE. MEC is currently responsible for the integrated management - including commercial & technical property management, on site center management, leasing and marketing, of a total of 43 retail parks in Germany - from retail parks for groceries up to shopping malls with 170 tenants. MEC has around € 2.8 billion assets under management. With approximately 900 tenants and an area of more than 1.35 million sqm, all centers generate a yearly turnover of approximately € 3 billion. Around 170 employees are employed by MEC, whose company headquarters is located in Düsseldorf.

Thorsten Herrmann

Head of Asset Management Center / FMZ

Thorsten Herrmann

Thorsten Herrmann has 17 years of experience working for the METRO GROUP properties. In different positions, the trained banker and real estate business administrator was responsible for the retail properties in the field of Asset Management.

He started his METRO career as an object manager for the retail properties in Eastern Germany, followed by positions in Asset Management, e.g. for the German METRO Cash & Carry and Real locations as well as the METRO stores in Denmark. Additionally, he supervised the Portfolio of the former discounter line TIP regarding the lease and marketing of floors. From 2009 on, he was leading the Retail Team (for the SB stores and METRO Cash & Carry Germany).

As Head of Asset Management Center / FMZ, Thorsten Herrmann has been responsible for the center property locations as well as the retail parks owned by METRO PROPERTIES since 2012.

Regional Director METRO PROPERTIES Asia Managing Director Turkey

Gündüz Bayer joined METRO GROUP in 1998 and since then worked in different positions in the group's real estate department.

In 2015, he became Director METRO PROPERTIES Asia. In this position, he is responsible for the company's activities in Asia including the Turkish Center Business. With the well-established brand M1, the company is one of the most important players in the Turkish market.

Before, he worked in leading positions with METRO PROPERTIES and METRO Cash & Carry in Singapore and Shanghai. Prior to his career with METRO GROUP, Gündüz Bayer, who grew up in Germany and Turkey and studied in Germany, held different positions at Kavala Holding Istanbul.

The M1 brand is one of the market leaders in Poland with a great awareness and popularity among visitors. Apart from the value-enhancing property management, METRO PROPERTIES Poland is also responsible for smooth and sustainable operations of the centers, the best possible leasing as well as all marketing activities. In terms of sustainability, the Polish centers are best-in-class: in 2015, all M1 properties were certified with the BREEAM in use certificate.

Renata Kinde-Czyż

Renata Kinde-Czyż

Renata Kinde-Czyż has been involved in the commercial real estate market for 19 years. She started working for the company in 1997 as a regional director and then as a shopping centre managing director. In 2005 she was appointed as a member of the Management Board. Since March 2012 she has held the position of the President of the Management Board of METRO PROPERTIES in Poland.

As a member of the Management Board of the Polish Council of Shopping Centres and, at the same time, as one of its founders, she plays an important role in shaping the Polish commercial real estate market. She actively promotes modern, international management standards in the area of sustainable development as well as standardisation of the shopping centre management processes.
